Blue Zircon Diamond Ring

This ring has a delicate blue tone similar to an aquamarine (without daylight).

Outside in sunlight its wonderful and unmistakable typical "zircon blue" shows.

The ring made of 14K gold holds a large 1.5ct. Precious zircon in its center and holds the stone in four secure prongs. The zircon is accompanied by 6 diamonds on both sides.

The rare blue of the gemstone creates a harmonious composition with the shimmer of the diamonds and the bright shine of the white gold. A precious jewel that is also wonderfully suitable as an engagement ring!

The zircon is a little-known, precious and natural gemstone that is mainly found in Cambodia. It has nothing in common with the inexpensive diamond substitute "zirconia", which is made in the laboratory and is basically worthless.

Real zircons are rare gemstones that can come in many beautiful colors, with the blue specimens in particular being sought-after gems due to their unusually bright blue tone.

These medium-blue zircons are called "Starlit" and they are created by burning natural raw zircons - which at first look almost like simple charcoal - at temperatures of around 800 degrees Celsius for two to two and a half hours. This process is a science in itself, because the gemstones are packed in clay and then carefully heated in glowing coal. With a little luck, the unmistakable blue will emerge, which is one of the most coveted colors in the spectrum of zircons and is rated the highest.

All measurements were done in the mounting as allowed by an independent, GIA-trained gemologist and are approximate when noted.
